Open Studios for Painters

We will begin class each week with a brief group instruction/demonstration session based on student needs and requests. The majority of the class will be devoted to your independent paintings. I will help individual students throughout the class and answer any questions. You will find unlimited inspiration from your fellow students too. Acrylic, water-based oil or traditional oil paint mediums are recommended.

My fall session of art classes will begin in October. Here’s the details:

Drawing and Painting - Wednesday Evenings - 6-9 pm - October 12, 19, 26, November 2, 9

Open Studios Painting - Thursday Afternoons - 12:00-3:00 pm - October 13, 20, 27, November 3, 10

Both classes are $150 per session for 15 hours.

During the Wednesday evening class, I will provide direct instruction on drawing techniques that will be useful to you as a painter.  We will spend the first few weeks on drawing and then expand to painting towards the end.  Thursdays will be similar to our previous independent painting format but I'd be happy to incorporate individual drawing instruction during the class too for those that are interested. All levels are welcome!

Maximum number of students per class is 4.

Background Information

Artist Statement:

I am a painter and art educator. I have had the honor and privilege to teach art to young children and adults in our community for many years, mostly through the Boulder Valley Schools. Since my retirement from the school district a few years back, I’ve been painting much more in my lovely studio which has been truly a joyful experience. Despite, or maybe because of this freedom, I have also been missing the art of teaching so here we go with some course offerings I hope you will enjoy!
